Kayso: The Dreamer

Once again TheNASHmag gives you probably the most influential artist Ga- Rankuwa has got to offer.
Kayso is not just your regular rapper, he is the only guy whom I feel is the rarest talent in South Africa. he is always improving on his game and breaks the norms that define kasi rap. His flows are ones everyone you can relate to and from the response he got on "Dream" it is quite evident Kayso is a force to be reckoned with.

Kayso's skills on the mic intimidate a lot of MCees, both big and small. He was shunned at Medunsa because they felt he was going to steal the show. Kayso is currently working on his maiden mixtape and he is producing most of the tape. When asked what really inspires him, he said "I am inspired mostly by the people who still say I will never make it. The nigaz that were laughing at me when I started in this rap game. It almost feels like no one will ever understand why I do what I do. Rap has made me scarifies a lot of things in my life but I never regret that for one minute. Hip Hop is my life."

For me, Kayso is the most humble guy you will ever meet, he is an introvert and most of the time people underestimate his skill on the mic and in the studio. For me he personifies what it means to believe in something so much that you believe you can't do anything else.

He has hinted that he will retire from the mic after he drops his tape in November this year. Sp and CIA from Corner Joint describe Kayso as the most prolific rapper in Ga- Rankuwa at the moment and he will hold that spot for quiet a long time. Boy peza even went as far as to record a joint with him from just hearing the hook Kayso scribbled on a piece of paper during Peza's visit at Corner Joint this past week. You can hear the hook playing in the back round of Sp's interview with TheNASHmag. Kayso is the guy behind LJ's killer track "Fresh Pair" which got over 400 downloads in it's first 2 days of release.

TheNASHmag rates Kayso as the most versatile rapper Ga- Rankuwa will ever produce. There is no 1 on his level, he is in a league of his own.
